I’m an Earth scientist, science communicator, and freelance illustrator—born in Germany, raised in Yorkshire.

My research dives into some of the most powerful volcanic eruptions on Earth. From hiking active volcanoes, collecting samples to puzzling over data in the lab, I explore why these explosive volcanoes also emit lava at the same time (called explosive-effusive or ‘hybrid’ behaviour).

I’ve illustrated for some of the world’s leading science publications, including Nature journals—where clear, striking visuals are essential. These commissions demand a high level of precision, creativity, and scientific understanding, and I bring all three to every project.
